Fourth Annual Earth Day Celebration: Celebrating Fifty Years of Earth Day
The Ann Norton Partnership for Art, Science & the Natural World (K-5)
Monday, April 22, 2020
Ann Norton envisioned her home, studio and green oasis as a place where all are welcome to learn about the powerful intersection of environmental science, art, and the natural world. Earth Day celebrates a distinguished collaboration of ecologically minded Palm Beach County non-profits.
The Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens will collaborate on a 50th anniversary celebration of Earth Day on April 22, by virtually uniting students throughout Palm Beach County with prominent environmental organizations including The South Florida Science Center and Aquarium, Manatee Lagoon- an FPL Eco-Discovery Center, Loggerhead Marinelife Center, The Everglades Foundation, Friends of Palm Beach, Florida Crystals, and more. This year’s virtual program celebrates the Ann Norton Partnership for Art, Science & the Natural World sponsored by Lewis, Longman & Walker, Florida Crystals and Wilmington Trust. The partnering organizations will provide virtual lessons designed to empower students with a deeper understanding of innovative and obtainable ways to make Earth Day every day – most especially while at home. Demonstrations will inspire active participation with hands-on activities that inspire discovery-based learning, which is proven to have promising long-term effects on academic achievement.
Students will be inspired to practice the many ways that we can sustain, conserve and protect the planet for generations to come.
