Throughout history, cars have reflected innovation…kinetic art, industrial design, and skillful engineering inspired decades of rolling sculpture that enabled early transportation, elegant travel, and racing history. Automotive design is in fact a reflection of our imagination and what the future may hold. Design is everywhere, but a car is personal. The rich history that accompanies the commission of some of the most extraordinary vintage vehicles in our history is an inspiring message. Innovation is a theme throughout this exhibition, confirming that art, science, and technology go hand in hand.

During the Community Exhibition, visitors of all ages will experience the history and design of rare, one of a kind, classic pre- and post- war automobiles in this “dream car” exhibition. Group tours by renowned automotive historians will be offered throughout the day, and guests will have the opportunity to be the judges and cast their votes for Most Artistic, Most Elegant, People’s Choice, Sculptural Speed and the Young Connoisseurs’ Award.

The community and guests will have the opportunity to join a Special Tribute to Gold Star Families and Veterans followed by The Grand Tour Parade of Cars departing the main lawn at 4:15 from Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens, crossing the bridge, touring the island of Palm Beach and concluding at the Flagler Museum.

Grand Marshal Donald Osborne

Grand Marshal Donald Osborne, is an author, car historian, host, consultant and an Accredited Senior Appraiser (A.S.A.) member of the American Society of Appraisers. Osborne works for clients around the globe on the acquisition, sale and valuation of classic vehicles. He has served as judge or emcee at many leading automotive concours events throughout the world. On Jay Leno’s Garage, Osborne co-hosts recurring segments Assess & Caress with Donald Osborne, Behind the Bowtie and Mansions & Motorcars sharing his knowledge about classic cars, their artistic design and history. He also serves as CEO of the Audrain Automobile Museum in Newport, Rhode Island.

Matthew P. Eversmann

The community and guests will have the opportunity to join a special tribute to Gold Star Families and Veterans of Palm Beach County led by First Sergeant Matt Eversmann (USA, Retired), New York Times best-selling author, documentarian, and inspiration for the movie Black Hawk Down. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal with Valor device for his service in Mogadishu.

Stars of 30 Exhibitions

Donald Osborne, CEO of the Audrain Group, will host a talk at 2 p.m. in the Gardens’ Outdoor Classroom titled Stars of 30 Exhibitions. In the 9 years since the opening of the Audrain Automobile Museum, 30 distinct, carefully curated and diverse exhibitions have been presented. Each has explored and displayed vehicles from the beginning of the automotive age at the start of the 20^th century to the latest of today, giving them context in the social and technological world in which we live. Osborne will share the ways in which some of the themes and cars were chosen and what they meant to the visitors who experienced them in person and to the multitude who shared them on the Internet.
