Conservation Conversations

Jan 4, 2024@6:00 pm-7:00 pm

With the underlying thought – “Think Globally, Act Locally” (Rene Dubos) – this series of talks is an exploration of current topics on conservation, sustainability and restoration from different viewpoints with different speakers who represent some of the State’s leading conservation groups. Starting with a state- wide perspective, it then brings the focus to Palm Beach County and the surrounding region.

Love Letters to Palm Beach County – A Visual Overview of Palm Beach through the Lens of a Photographer, Scientist and Conservationist with Benji Studt

January 4, 2024 – 6:00 pm
Benji Studt
is a scientist, conservation photographer, nature communicator, and explorer. For the last seven years, Benji has led Environment Resource Management’s public outreach team with the goal of inspiring real connections between the residents and visitors of the Palm Beaches to the incredible public lands system that makes this area so special. This presentation is a testimonial to that work, the public lands and the wonders of Palm Beach County.

After graduating from the University of Florida, Benji spent 3 years working for South Florida Water Management District in the wetland regulation arena.  He then moved to Palm Beach County’s Department of Environmental Resources Management (ERM) where for almost 10 years he designed wetland restoration projects, as well as conducted biological monitoring and land management activities. In his time away from “work”, he, his wife and their fur-babies seek out  and explore the most beautiful and wild places in the US, and always come back home to Palm Beach County.
