In honor of Black History Month, ANSG is proud to present Jazz & Gospel in the Gardens. Every February since 1976, the United States has celebrated the achievements of African-Americans during Black History Month. The month-long celebration puts those accomplishments into focus through the media and in classrooms. Jazz & Gospel in the Gardens on Sunday afternoons, creating a musical infusion of art and nature. Visitors will have the opportunity to listen to jazz and gospel among the monumental works of Ann Norton and visiting world class artists and enjoy the breezy palms on the main lawn.
Sommers performed her Cabaret Shows in the “Royal Room” in The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach every year from 2008 to 2016. She performed with The Johnny CarsonTonight Show Orchestra Leader “Doc Seversen” in Las Vegas for five (5) years as his lead vocalist, appeared on Broadway in Ain’t Misbehavin’, Show Boat, Chicago,and Platinum, and in the national tours of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas with Ann-Margret, and Chicago with Chita Rivera and Joel Grey. Sommers was also seenin Regina Taylor’s Crowns at City Theatre in Pittsburgh, and Hairspray at Actors’ Playhouse.
