Brilliant blue ocean, glimmering white sand, and ultimately, the beautiful majestic Florida palm tree are all iconic reminders of our beautiful state.

Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens is the home to one of the most rare and unparalleled collections of palms and cycads in the country. Cycads are living fossils, having existed for nearly 280 million years on earth since the Cretaceous and Jurassic periods.  Ann Norton and her friend, Sir Peter Smithers, world-renowned botanist, landscape architect, member of British Parliament and inspiration for the character “Smithers” in the James Bond series, designed this beautiful rare tropical garden complete with over 250 different species of plants.

It is indeed a rare gift to experience the monumental, silent, mysterious sculptures created in situ over a period of 15 years by Ann Norton, amongst the rare palm and cycad collection situated on the Intracoastal Waterway in West Palm Beach.

Please join our Florida Master Gardener for a  walking guided tour of the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens’ rare palm and cycad garden. This incredibly informative experience will conclude with a Q & A in the outdoor classroom, along with interesting conversation with your fellow palm and cycad enthusiasts.
